Listening To Arctic Monkeys
Since 2006, Arctic Monkeys, a British Rock band has been making Rock records. With their successful debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I Am Not, the band have been releasing rock studio albums every 2 years. In 2011, they released their fourth-studio album Suck It And See. The album received good reviews from almost every magazines and websites. Now, the last album by the band released in February of 2013 named AM (Arctic Monkeys) which became another critically acclaimed studio album of this decade. The album's single R U Mine?, Do I Wanna Know heavily dominated Rock genre in 2013-14. Many British magazines like NME (New Musical Express), one of the oldest British magazines wrote in about the album AM in their 10/10 review, "Arctic Monkeys’ fifth record is absolutely and unarguably the most incredible album of their career. It might also be the greatest record of the last decade." The most amazing thing about their recent album - AM is that it sounds more than just Rock album, as it had combination of R&B, Indie Rock and Hip Hop. However, the band's guitarist Jamie Cook stated that the late David Bowie's album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars was the only record he listened to when they recorded the album. There is no doubt that the recent death of David Bowie had stunned the band.
The band Arctic Monkeys was formed way back in 2002-03, they immersed from the sub-urban of Sheffield with lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Alex Turner, drummer Matt Helders, Jamie Cook as lead guitarist and Nick O'Malley in Bass guitar. It is certain that we are going to hear more from this immersing band. I feel the band has potentiality of bringing Rock & Roll back to the place where it had been before during the 80's. The band has both skills and vision to make Rock records that touches the soul. Recently, the band had announced hiatus from making records to follow their tours. Arctic Monkeys. However, the fans are eagerly waiting for their new studio album.
